ANTHONY MORROW
Anthony Morrow is an artist residing outside of Philadelphia in Haddonfield, NJ.  He received his BA from the
University of the Arts in Philadelphia and has continued his education at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts
(PAFA). At PAFA, Morrow studied under the painting department’s chair, Al Gury - a student of Arthur DeCosta.

Morrow bases his work on the academic studies of the 19th and 20th century masters. With each show, there is a
definite sense of growth and evolution in the artist’s work.  Morrow’s paintings are beginning to break in color and
form, which invites the viewer to step inside and participate in completing the scene. His paintings draw the viewer in
with nostalgia, lush surface texture, and brushwork - leaving one to mentally complete the work on a personal and
romantic level.

If asked, Morrow would say his work is, "organic and based on nature and our relationships within it". He has
explained that, "traditional standards can be elusive at times in style, medium, and brushing", but his art remains
beholden to its roots.

Anthony Morrow’s work is collected and shown nationally by private collectors and corporations.  He lectures locally
to students of the arts and paints and prints daily in his Haddonfield studio.

"I have followed the career of Anthony Morrow since he was a student of mine at the Philadelphia College of Art. He
began as an illustration major, and has since branched out into other areas of graphic and fine arts, I believe he has
grown considerably as an artist, and his paintings and prints show a maturation and sophistication, and a clear
comprehension of technique and design in his approach to this work".
Robert Byrd.

“This multi-talented artist has managed to successfully integrate two diametrically opposed qualities of painting,
namely the ability to be absolutely free in the use of the brush while maintaining a solid, mindful respect of
composition, balance, and the quality of color,” said
John Giannotti,      Professor Emeritus,  Rutgers University Fine Arts Department.
